Posiedon Missile Launch

The toys I used to have to play with.

A series of pictures on a missile launch including showing the REB's reentering the atmosphere. The equipment section is shown burning up on the far right hand side.

USS Darter SS 227 aground on Bobmbay Shoal's

Lost 24 October 1944

 

Darter ran aground on the Bombay Shoal while in pursuit of the Japanese cruiser Takao after sinking the Japanese cruiser Atago. Officers and men were taken aboard USS Dace (SS-247) and Darter was destroyed to prevent her from falling into enemy hands.
